Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Hansel and Gretel, as a new version of The Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage transforms the Globe Theatre with poetry, songs and hope this winter.

When Hansel and Gretel’s parents decide their only option to give their children a better life is to abandon them in the woods, the children must fend for themselves.

Hansel and Gretel’s attempt to get home soon gets side-tracked – quite literally – by a trail of treats too good to resist and a seemingly-sweet stranger with a plan of her own…

Returning with a new recipe of music, mayhem and festive magic, this is a delicious treat for everyone aged 5+ directed by Nick Bagnall (Love’s Labour’s Lost, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Globe).

Unfortunately. Coming up from dorset we missed this. As I paid 40% more for my tickets through you...a more flexible exchange would have been so appreciated! I would have been prepared to pay more for a different show. Never mind! Thanks for all you do. ??

We are a family party of adults, the youngest being mid twenties. The show was great fun, well told and very well acted. It's our Xmas tradition to take in a theatre show around this time and this did not disappoint. The production is clearly aimed at a younger audience and the children around us certainly enjoyed it, but we took it for what it was and would thoroughly recommend Hansel & Gretel. The setting of the Globe is another added reason for attending. We'll definitely be back for another production.

Cheap costumes made of random materials, short show. Most of the story was described rather than having actual decorations or elements. Could be made much better

Fantastic modern adaptation of Hansel and Gretel. So much fun the kids and adults were laughing. Highly recommended viewing

Paid £28 for 2 standing places near the front but people were standing everywhere so me and my child couldn't see anything. When we finally did find somewhere to stand where we could see the play, we were told to move as it needed to be clear for 'actors to come in and out'. Would not recommend.

Amazing experience!

Not a great place to watch - it was in the open

Really disappointing. The sound was terrible. We didn’t actually got the chance to enjoy the play as we were evacuated right in the middle. Of course, no explanation and I suppose no compensation. Also, when booking it wasn’t made very clear that actually the play was outside. But, like my friend said, once you were there once, you know next time! It wasn’t so much for me, but for my little one who actually was enjoying it! I won’t come back as I don’t think it worth the effort!

Lovely afternoon at the theatre with my 8 and 10 year old nieces. We had standing tickets and enjoyed the show. The cast move through the audience during the performance which everyone thought was fun. Friendly helpful staff and an easily accessible venue.

Great introduction to Shakespear production. None of my family had been to the globe nor have interst in shakespear, but we all enjoyed it.
