Tony Award-winning musical Man of La Mancha returns to the West End in 2019 for its first major London revival in over 40 years.

Multi-award winning actor Kelsey Grammer will lead this semi-staged concert production as Don Quixote and as his faithful servant Sancho Panza.

Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ seventeenth-century masterwork Don Quixote and set during the Spanish Inquisition, Man of La Mancha features classic numbers including “The Impossible Dream,” “I, Don Quixote,” “Dulcinea,” “I Really Like Him” and “Little Bird”.

Following the critically acclaimed productions of ChessSweeney ToddSunset Boulevard and Carousel, Michael Linnit and Michael Grade in collaboration with English National Opera present Man of La Mancha.

Man of La Mancha will play a strictly-limited West End season from April 2019 at the London Coliseum.

Miguel de Cervantes, failed playwright, poet and tax collector, has been thrown in jail by the Spanish Inquisition for daring to tax a monastery.

Awaiting trial Cervantes is hailed before a kangaroo court of his fellow prisoners; thieves, cutthroats and trollops who propose to confiscate his meagre possessions one of which is the uncompleted manuscript of a novel called “Don Quixote.” Cervantes, seeking to save it, proposes to offer a novel defence in the form of entertainment.

As Cervantes and his servant transform into Don Quixote & Sancho Panza, his wild imagination leads them into a campaign to restore the age of chivalry, to battle evil and right all wrongs.

Great show, I had great time there

Jane Elliott

to be honest, we were disappointed, whilst the story was told adequately we were expecting a more Spanish flavour both musically and visually

Cassandra V Stone

Great show. Kesley Grammar can sing.

nooooooooooooooooooo

Mrs Karen Smith-Young

Fantastic show in a beautiful theatre in the heart of the West End

Helen De Burgh

Dreary, the same set, the actors need to progect the dialogue out to the audience, the chorus should be dressed in PERIOD peasant costumes, sorry to say most disappointing.

Andreas

We very much enjoyed the performance, unfortunately the theatre was not fully booked

Mary Brown

Fabulous show - everyone was superb! We enjoyed it immensely. Great!

Nick Smith

What an amazing night we had, a superb production that was able to make me smile and was also able to bring a tear to my eye. Excellent performances from Kelsey Grammar, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Cassidy Janson and Peter Polycarpou most able and abetted by the supporting cast. Excellent choreography and a stunning set which effortlessly switched from the 'play within a play' to the dank desolation of a 'prison'. All this without even mentioning the awesome orchestration. Thank you for a superb evening which will long live in the memory. Nick and Arvi.
