WELCOME TO HADESTOWN, WHERE A SONG CAN CHANGE YOUR FATE.
The record-breaking sensation by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin is now playing to critical acclaim at the Lyric Theatre, London.
‘Big, beautiful and emotionally blasting’ (The Guardian), HADESTOWN is the winner of 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album. Seen by three million, streamed by over 350 million and adored by fans around the world, this sensational musical is ‘the most exhilarating ride’ (WhatsOnStage).
HADESTOWN takes you on an unforgettable journey to the underworld and back, intertwining two mythic love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone.
A deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience, HADESTOWN invites you to imagine how the world could be.

extraordinary, impressive, great voices, it was a big event.
Fabulous, engaging story telling at it's best. The actors were brilliant and the singing wonderful, but the use of lighting and stage mechanics made the show. Loved it.
Fabulous show. Everyone on stage shone with charisma.
Amazing show. I was absolutely enthralled from the first note.
My friend and I absolutely enjoyed the London production of Hadestown! I had previously seen it in Philadelphia and could not wait to see it again. London did not disappoint!
Top notch experience! One of the absolute best performances I’ve seen.
Don’t know your Greek tragedy from your elbow? Don’t worry, just sit back and let the actors, musicians, songs and set tell the story. Truly exceptional in every way and fantastic entertainment. Thank you to everyone involved.
Singing was weak, not worth the mondy I spent on the tickets. Really shabby theater and really drap plot. Unlikeable charactersthat I really didn't care about, so much so I feel asleep in the fits half.
Good songs and story
Absolutely amazing. Enthralled from beginning to end.
Love the musical and the humour.
I've seen it twice and am looking forward. To going once or twice a month till it ends.. I'm obsessed
